Apply shellac mixture to twigs before painting. We shellac the putty seam before puttying to prevent the oil from the putty from seeping into the wood.
Mix equal parts T-red and shellac flakes and let stand, and you will get a nice shellac that you can brush on with, for example, our 13mm linseed oil paint brushes.
